Bell Engine came about after John Clarke and Lisa Anderson met while performing at a benefit in the Berkshires in 2009. One year and several acoustic shows later they asked Miles Lally to play bass. Miles then suggested Dan Karp and Sam Earnshaw to round out the sound which is now Bell Engine.
Bell Engine's songs have an undeniable momentum. Fueled by strong rhythms, funky bass lines, and gorgeous harmonies, the tunes are well crafted, driving and energized. Musical comparisons include The Civil Wars, Wilco, Lucinda Williams, Neil Young, and Elliot Smith.
Bell Engine's music covers a wide range of sounds and emotions: sometimes heavy, other times ethereal, always musical. Songwriters John Clarke, Lisa Anderson and Miles Lally each bring their distinct signatures, and the combined result rolls like a train bringing the audience along for the ride while they sit back and dig the view.

"They were phenomenal, voices mixing like magic, great songs...This is a group that should explode."
